Monday Night Motivations

Normally, Mondays are boring, depressing, and slow for me. But last week, I found something to keep me happy(ish) and focused on Mondays: Television. Now, I understand that you might be thinking that TV is bad for school and all, but it helps me finish my homework faster if I want to watch something at 9.  And my main ‘procrastination zone’ is the Internet, so my parents are okay with it. :P

I watch two shows on Monday Nights: Total Drama World Tour, and Mike & Molly.

Total Drama World Tour: It’s an animated reality show which is in it’s third season. The characters are teen and reality show stereotypes, and this season features musical numbers, as well. I love it, even if I already know who wins(Spoilers suck! D:). And it has more adult(No, not like Family Guy) humor, with subtle jokes, like the following portion:

-Guys, listen to me! I’m a CIT! (Counselor in Training)

-More like a B I T C-

-Alright ladies, chill.

It’s a good switch from the average Spongebob or whatever, so I <3 it. :P

Mike & Molly: It’s about two people who fall in love… at an overeaters anonymous meeting. I like how it’s realistic, they don’t rely off of cursing too much, and the actors are really fat. No, I don’t mean it like I’m happy that their actors are more likely to die from their obesity, but how it’s not like ‘Gasp! You’re 91 pounds! Whaaaaleee!’.

Then I also have Melissa and Joey, but that’s on Tuesday nights.

What TV shows do you watch?

Iceberg Ahead

Last month, Debby Ryan, AKA Bailey on Suite Life on Deck started a Twitter rumor that SLoD is getting cancelled. She said that she was sad about how it was the last week of filming …season 3. This sent fans and tween blogs all over the Internet to find out stuff about SLoD’s future. Here’s what I think happened:

  1. Debby was being honest: It was the last week of filming and it was the last week of Season 3. As in, it’s getting cancelled, but people would stop watching if they knew the show’s fate.
  2. It was the last week of Season 3, but something big, like a cast member leaving, occurs.
  3. SLoD needed the extra publicity so they used Debby Ryan’s Twitter to scare people. :P

Apparently, Season 3 has episodes like Prom, and Graduation. But WHO? London learned to drive in 2005(15/16), Maddie went to college in 2008(18/19) and she became a senior in 2009(17/18 ?). I’m guessing she didn’t get held back because that would look bad for a Disney character. No, I’m not attacking people who got held back, but I’m just saying Disney’s too uptight to air things like that. They got rid of an episode Suite Life of Zack and Cody because it featured Zack pretending to be dyslexic for special treatment, and people complained. So basically, Disney hates controversy.

Now, the question is: Who’s Graduation is it? London’s? Zack, Cody, Bailey, Woody and newcomer Maya? Either way, we’re losing one character, or 5. It can be London, because Brenda Song has almost been on Disney for 12 years now, and she’s going to star in that new Facebook movie, so maybe she wants to do something different. It can be Zack, Cody and the rest of the crew, because the twins are heading off to college this year, IRL, so that won’t be good for filming. Then there’s the scary option: All of them. The Suite Life series has had 6 seasons, been on for 5 years, and has magically avoided too much music. Not to mention, it’s the most boy oriented show on the network, and it’s not like there are any heartthrobs to lure in any girls. I don’t mean to sound sexist, but I’m pretty sure Disney got Dylan and Cole because they thought they’d turn into heartthrobs, which meant boys wanted to be them, and girls wanted to be with them. My point is, it’s days are limited on the network. After all, fellow Disney Channel long runners, Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place are going to be cancelled too, so the Mouse House Executives are probably planning to take another one while we’re all mourning two other show-deaths, so a third one won’t seem as bad.

The only other way they could continue the show is A) If they make it like a new Degrassi, for kids. Kids go on the show, do stupid stuff for 4 years, and they get replaced after. Disney tries to make superstars out of everyone, but to no avail, so they just kill the franchise. Besides, if Jonas was retooled into a tween soap, and 2 comedies(And I use that word very loosely) are being cancelled, then maybe they plan on turning all of the shows into music/dance based tween soaps? That new show, Live it Up, or something, is about dance, so it’s possible they’ll just scrap the laugh track.

And option B)The kids go to college… on the boat! Self explanatory.

Then again, the SLoD cast is getting a DCOM next year, so this could either be a finale movie, or Disney’s way of starting the new SLoD franchise mentioned in option A.

I’m personally sad to see the show go. Don’t get me wrong, the characters and plots repulse me, but I’m sad to see the show go when everything is screwed up. Disney, please fix everything with the show, then cancel it.

What?

I’m back from my mini hiatus. AP History + Biology honors = stressful. But I’ll skip the details and head straight into a –gasp- rant!

So, English is my second language. I learned around when I went to school, so I’ll say 4 or 5, the latest. Armenian is my first language. Armenian is a little different for pronouncing stuff, like more r’s are rolled, and there is a kh, ch, sh, and other sounds/letters that aren’t as focused on in English. So basically, I have an accent.

This year, in Spanish, I sit next to the girl that everyone loves for no reason. And I mean that, like she’s average and hasn’t done anything to deserve everyone fawning over her. And I’ve had 3 classes with her since 7th grade. Once, she literally walked out of the class because ‘she got hit with a tennis ball’. Okay, so we were playing catch and someone threw the ball near her, so she bitched over nothing. So, anyway, we have speaking activities. And last week, she told the girl sitting next to her something: I have an accent and she can’t understand me. At all. Honey, you’ve known me for like, 3 years now. Don’t you think it’s a little late to complain about my accent now? And it’s not like I could defend myself, because she said it too loud to be heard, but too quiet to confront her about it.

And then- this week. We had to do another activity where we read off questions from pieces of paper. And then, when it was my turn to read off questions, this girl just flat out tells me: ‘Do you speak any other languages? Like… Armanian or whatever at home?’ I said yes. Then she said ‘Oh, because… yeah’. WHAT THE HELL? I’ve been dealing with this girl’s BS for 3 years and she can’t just grin and bear 5 minutes of ‘Como te llamas?’ . Then, for the rest of the activity, she didn’t even bother listening, and she just kept asking me to repeat what I said before, until I just showed her the paper. And I can’t tell the teacher, because, as I said before, little miss Mighty Whitey gets loved by everyone for no reason.

So basically, I’m stuck dealing with this inconsiderate POS in Spanish class for a year.

It’s bad enough that she couldn’t just ask me to speak clearer, or be nice, or anything, but she just said it like ‘You’re bad for having an accent and you don’t deserve to be listen to. Now, do my work for me, but make it look like I’m doing all the work, k?’. I’m shy and quiet in school because of my accent, and being mistreated because of it won’t make me come out of my shell. I’m not asking to be treated specially, but honestly, would it kill her to just ask me to speak slower? I mean, I’ve disliked her for a long time, but I just put a fake smile on and treat her with the respect she doesn’t deserve.

Pirate Day

Hi guys. Today, September 19, is International Speak/Talk like a Pirate Day. So, don’t forget to support your local pirates, kids. ;D

But seriously. Don’t do actual illegal stuff today. Or at all. :P [/PSA]

And right now, I’m watching the Fred movie. And… I like it. It’s what Nickelodeon feels like. I mean, it’s about your average kid, who’s not famous. The biggest twist is that he’s a 6 year old played by a 17 year old, or he’s from YouTube, but that’s nothing from Nickelodeon’s behalf. And apparently, Nickelodeon is going to invest in a Fred series? I’ll watch. :P But seriously. It’s a fun movie if you like Jennette McCurdy, and have a high tolerance for kid stuff. Don’t worry, his voice isn’t as annoying as it is online. :P

A Quick Thought

On the whole Mare's vs FuryRed issue: My thought is... let them do whatever they want. They're both mature and grown up, and they'll eventually come to their senses... hopefully. My only negative-ish thing is: What happen to the Mares that supported people using their own, non-EA blogs to fight their censorship? Why did they want everyone to communicate on blogs to practice freedom of speech, then once someone puts a (Well written and not just 'mares suck!!!1111111!11') argument against them, they take their blog down from their nav bar? What? I mean, I usually just scan through the non-EA related posts, so I'm still confused on what happened, but doesn't that go against their previous posts and outlook on life? I admire TMN for sticking up on important issues, like anything Jarsie9 does, the Jack4740 IP scandal, testing out EPs and SPs, and just general anti-EA stuff, but really, shouldn't they just privately contact her or something, and not make a big fuss out of it? If they're worried about Fury tainting their 'image', trust me Mares, you're not going anywhere.

And I'd appreciate a laconic, impartial version of what happened. So I could know if I mangled up the story and whatnot.

*ducks for cover*

Blaaaahhhh

It’s the second weekend of the school year, and I’m already swamped with homework. Technically, it’s only a biology quiz, and an AP US I test/quiz. My parents are acting super strict and annoying already. They’re just yelling at me to get my stuff done, but obviously, learning something on a Saturday afternoon won’t help me out with quizzes on Monday. And I have outlines to do too, but they’re due Thursday, and I have to type them. My parents would be annoyed, and say that I’m just typing it so I can go online. Yes, because looking at pictures of guidettes from my school is the only reason why I go online.

I want a fun weekend. Like, one of those weekends that have everything go in your way, and you’re never just at home sitting on a couch. I mean, yeah, I want to play Sims too, but my parents think anytime I open up my laptop, I’m just going to become lazy and unmotivated. Seriously. I’ll go upstairs to get away from them, and then, my Dad would suddenly need to check something in his office, and my Mom needs to record something in my Grandma’s room, and suddenly, we’re back to square 1.

In Sim news, I haven’t really played that much of the Timbersons. We’re so close to starting generation 9. I hate how now that we’re almost done with them, we’re starting to find custom content that’s good. It’s like, now I have to squeeze every download I like into like 3 generations of Sims. :/

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

I know the blog looks like a mess, so please ignore it until tomorrow. I’ll try to fix it then. Your patience is appreciated.

But just wondering, did you like the banner?

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Dear Jarsie,

Were you hated as a child? Did you have no friends? Did the mean girls pick on you? Did you go to bed hungry at night? Were you abused, ill, or had any other reason to be angry at the world and everyone in it? Oh, what’s that? No? Then DO THE WORLD A FAVOR AND SELL YOUR COMPUTER. Listen, someone your age might not understand the complex concept of –gasp- Internet etiquette, but let me tell you the quickest rule of thumb: If dozens, if not hundreds, of people, bloggers, and others have told you to GTFO, and you’ve been reported many times, then you should follow that advice and sign offline. Honestly, go do something else with that pension. Play golf, paint fruit, have a blog about critiquing stuff, do anything but being on the Sims Forum.

I’ve personally had enough of you since Day 1. Even before I blogged or kept up with any blogs, I knew that when I saw your Sim, I should be ready for a rant. I’ve been fed up with your crap too long now. You’ve flat out insulted countless users on countless occasions, started many flame wars which have probably gotten others banned, and even made a reference to drug use! And yet EA hasn’t done anything yet. Why? Why? WHY? I know I’ve reported you at least twice, and others like Sara have reported you, too. Basically, a good portion of the EA forum has reported you. And yet you keep crawling back into EA’s forum. WHY? Others have been banned for telling EA to do their jobs, or posting things about llamas, boxes, and even saying thank you or talking about bananas! You know what’s bananas? WHY THE HELL YOU STILL AREN’T BANNED. Are you in some kind of deal with EA? Do you buy their games or stocks and keep them out of bankruptcy? Do you hack into any of the SimGuru’s accounts and unban yourself? No? Then do us all a favor and JUST LEAVE. If you always get pissed off about how ‘stupid’ us Simmers are, then why do you keep coming back? Oh, I know why! If us Simmers are so stupid, then you must be the freaking queen of simming, because frankly, you’re an idiot! You’re the worst thing in the Sims 3 community, Jarsie.

And for the Sara situation. Why? Did you really have to do that? Did you not run over enough squirrels and chipmunks Monday? Did you see one too many people happy? Honestly, keep your mouth shut, Jarsie! Sara has more important things to do than worry about how some old, bitter, miserable hag spends her time. Seriously. Before you complain about not being able to read someone’s post, grow up. You should know, not as a grandmother, or a mother, but as a human being when enough is enough and shut up. If people from all over the world are talking negatively about you, don’t you think it’s time to stop, Jarsie?

And Sara, if you’re reading this, stay strong. It’s people like Jarsie that lose in the end. Personally, I read your posts just fine, and I think others were making a fuss over nothing. Have fun playing the Sims, and ignore Jarsie and others. :)

Oh, and EA’s in another controversy about product placement. But it’s about their Non-Sims games, which, I guess is good for more recognition from big companies. I only have a problem with it if it tracked my Internet habits. I don’t do anything like that, but I don’t need to see Farmville, Twitter, or Tumblr ads in my Sims games. :P

Mid Week Update

Here’s a mixture of my thoughts and random tidbits from Saturday:

  • I saw the iSam’s Mom special for iCarly. It was good, but the side plot seemed like it could’ve been it’s own episode. They needed more Jane Lynch in it. I hope Nickelodeon keeps her around. Oh, and I caught up with the iGot a Hot Room special. I thought it was funny, but the spoilers in trailers sucked. And I wonder if they’re gonna keep the high budget room.
  • Yesterday was good and bad. My AP US I teacher acted like… something I can’t say publicly on the Internet. My backpack broke. I probably gave off a bad impression to my English teacher for not saying hi to him in the halls. And I almost missed my bus. And then that Sara vs Jarsie stuff. But….. I realized I have a lot of stuff to be thankful for: My Dad fixed my backpack and I still have my family and a lot of stuff to be thankful for. So in the end, I realized that just because my school day was bad, it didn’t mean my life was bad. Especially after reading this post on Kami's blog, and thinking about all the other people in the world who are less fortunate. I’m starting to sound like my Grandmother. o.O
  • Today went good. I guess it’s after overanalyzing yesterday. :P I took my school picture today, but I’m not sure if I bended too much(Look this way, put your legs here, no not there, on the marks, thaaaattt’s it, now smiiile!) or smiled too fake, or if my eyes looked creepy or anything. No, I don’t look that horrible(I hope *knocks on wood*), but sometimes when I take a picture(Or at least for school related stuff), I get nervous and… you’ve seen any picture day episode of any kidcom, haven’t you? I had no homework today, which was good. I just feel a little ripped off. I mean, yeah, I started some long term homework, and I did some recycling in my basement, and I ate out with my family, but I wanted to do more than just reading a blog or two and catching up with my FarmVille. Eh, I should be grateful for having a nice day and leave it at that. Oh, and I got an A on an AP assignment. But I get back another test from the first day of school tomorrow…. yikes. *Reads last bullet to feel happy*
  • Oh yeah, more TV stuff. The VMAs… MTV, why the hell did you move your show to 9? I’m sure a lot of people don’t give a fudge about what some wannabe D lister is wearing. And if it’s because Chelsea Handler is vulgar, well, that’s your problem. It was a school night, and I had to sleep, so I just watched up to Taylor singing. She’s awesome. Oh, and Lady GaGa? I think it’s MTV’s fault for nominating her so many times. I felt bad for everyone else who didn’t win stuff. They should’ve stop at like 5 nominations.
  • Disney time. I missed the first half of Hannah Montana because I thought the VMAs started at 8 because MTV showed their pre show instead. So, basically, the horse didn’t die and Miley lied to Lily, broke her leg and almost killed her pet horse because she didn’t admit about climbing the gym rope. Or something like that. Way to go, Miley. On the other hand, I think that the Good Luck Charlie was funny. That was the first time I liked G Hannelius or whatever her name is. I thought Teddy’s dancing was adorable! And the show is still good, to me.
  • Melissa and Joey? Eh. I was catching up on the blogosphere, so I felt lost throughout the episode. Eh, ABCFamily will air it a bunch of more times anyway, so I’m not missing out on anything, right?

9/11

Rest in peace to those who lost their lives during 9/11/01. I don’t remember a lot of it from the day that happened, I was 6 years old. I know my school just closed for the rest of the day and the next day.

The next part is a rant. If you don’t think you’ll be able to read this without using 5 profanities, slurs, insults, or other negative hate words, please press CTRL + W. Your cooperation is appreciated.

I think for the whole Koran burning and NYC Mosque thing, it’s only hurting other people. Specifically, Christians and non-terrorist Middle Easterners. And guess who happens to be both? :P Honestly, anytime I tell people I’m Armenian, and tell them it’s in the Middle East, I always get looks that scream ‘terrorist’. And I’ve been told to go back into my own country (I was born and raised here, in the US, English is just my second language, so I have an accent), just because of 9/11. And my parents say (Jokingly) that if we go to visit family in Syria, we’d probably try to lie and say we’re Canadian or something because of the ‘ugly American’ stereotype. Really, people? Is that what we want America to be? The melting pot for WASPs and Aryans only? Where guidos and guidettes are allowed to be themselves and respected for their heritage, but anywhere between India and Greece is frowned upon? Where one tiny group destroys the whole image of a culture, and people accept the new ‘version’? Honestly. It’s odd how people forget about people like Columbus(Who caused many deaths for Native Americans), the Westboro Baptist Church(Who discriminate against gays and non-Christians), and other negative Americans or non-Middle Easterners. I’m not saying praise the ME-ers, but I’m just saying: Hate the terrorists, not the innocent civilians/immigrants/innocent people.

And then I hate all those people who call themselves ‘American’, but all they do is hate any non-WASP, Aryan, or Christian, and call any liberal an evil communist. Please, can we all start acting like adults?

So, I hope with this incident, we’ll be able to protect what America really stands for: Land of the free, a melting pot, and a place for non abused freedom. And anyone who disagrees can just read Animal Farm.

Update

Hi guys. I started school this week, and here’s my view on classes and stuff, in no specific order.

  • Why is my SAT Prep class filled with juniors? D: I feel awkward in it. Like, I’m taking it to early or they’ll think I’m annoying. But the teacher is fun so that’s okay, I guess.
  • Remember ‘Mariah’ from a few blog posts ago? I have geometry AND English with her. –_- Oh gosh. This is gonna be an annoying year.
  • My Biology (Honors :o) class is filled with… freshmen. It’s supposed to be an advanced class for sophomores, so why are there only two other sophomores in it? And there were rumors that the teacher is on the nicer looking side but reeeeeaaaaally mean, so literally, when all the freshmen boys walked in, they either said ‘Damn, she’s hot/fine/etc.’, ‘She’s not that not hot’ or ‘Oh shit, this is her? We’re screwed!’. I don’t think I can handle all of them this year. On a side note, the teacher looks young and cool, but she really is a hard teacher. And the second the bell rang, she went straight to her blackberry. Looks like I know what she really cares about. Oh, and she said that ‘This is gonna be one of those classes where a lot of people get B’s.’ My parents only want As. Yikes.
  • AP US I…. stank. I did good on the multiple choice part of the test, but there were 2 essay questions and I only did one. And I don’t even think I did that good on it. :/ But they only counted for ten points, so… maybe I have a chance? I want to transfer out, but my parents are like ‘No, just work a little harder.’ I was like, um hello? Working a little harder = being in one honors class, not being in 3 honors classes and 1 AP class and trying to get all A’s.
  • English seems fun, because my teacher isn’t like those annoying people who try shoving their opinions about books down your throat. And he seems cool about writing.
  • My Spanish teacher…. where do I begin. She claims to be a native speaker, but not even the 3 or 4 Hispanic students in my class understand her. Only one kid likes her, but that’s because she talks with him, and he ‘speaks Spanish’ with her. Yes, because nodding your head, saying si, and asking ‘Como Estas?’ or saying Hola/Adios is clearly a high level of speaking Spanish. And that kid and I did NOT get along last year, so :/. Her Spanish skills are more like singing. From listening activities, the people in the tapes spoke it fast. She just extends vowels, and her sentences soundlikeeeee deeess. And her English skills? She makes progress sound like purgress. :/ Oh, and she starts the year with just speaking Spanish. No hello, or how was summer. Everyone was seriously like ‘WTH?’ .
  • Driver’s Ed. I can’t believe I might start driving soon! :o
  • The freshmen are obnoxious. They all travel in groups of 20 30 40, walk as slow as possible, and are in the previously senior-and-junior-only commons. And a lot of them just are dressing in sweats, obnoxious/unflattering colors, or just think they’re hot stuff because they were 8th graders and they graduated middle school. I’m not saying all freshmen are bad, I’m just saying 3/5ths of them are. :P
  • It’s weird how this year, colleges, SATs, ACTs, AP classes, and everything starts flowing together. Like, this year starts counting.

Now, I have to do my homework. So, thanks for reading!

:(

So, today during dinner, I found out my Granduncle passed away. :’( Rest in peace. I feel horrible for my Grandmother. She’s in California now, and she never had a chance to say goodbye(He lives in Syria, along with most of my distant relatives) to her brother. :(

And I’m starting school again. I can’t go on as much, because whenever school starts or reopens(Like after breaks and stuff), my parents always try making us only allowed to go online on weekends. We eventually always get to go back online during the week, but it might take a while. I have school off Thursday and Friday, and since this is just the first week, my parents might be generous and let me go online(Or at least forget :P). I won’t be online as much. I know this sounds old by now, but I have 1 AP class, 3 honors classes, and my own life outside of the blogosphere. :P I’ll try to do some posts now and then, but don’t expect novel length rants anymore. Maybe this is a good thing? :P

So… um, bye?

Layout Update Makeover Thing

Happy Labor Day, everyone! I updated the blog's layout. And I'm almost done with my summer reading. :) Enjoy the remainder of your long weekend. Oh, and good luck to all my fellow students. :P

*And this is the first time I've posted using the Blogger website. It feels... odd. *

Of Course It Is

image

Apparently, Zynga believe September is when all of us hardworking YoVille-ers should be appreciated. Somebody clearly went a little loony with power over there, seeing as they admitted that us players deserve credit for putting up with their crap. It’s not as bad as EA, but still. Zynga should be rich enough from FarmVille, so they should leave YoVille alone. Or at least clean it up.

YoVille is honestly… messed up now. Small crud like stuffed animals(Which don’t even go with the art style of the rest of the items, by the way) cost YoCash, AKA real world money. And it used to be fun to talk with others, or play tic-tac-toe. Now, it’s turning into a hook up game. And a lot of the YoVille clothes and hairstyles, not to mention, players, resemble guidos and guidettes from the Jersey Shore. There was a time when the clothes and furniture was realistic. Now it’s just one cheap gimmick after another.

I’ll post updates if anything interesting pops up on YoVille.

Soulful Sim Irony

On a quick Google search of Soulful Sims, guess what comes up?

image

Yeah, AE’s warning against them. :P

And remember how earlier this week I said I read about a Cory in the House season 3? Wiki lied. :(

And I hate it when workers in stores follow potential customers around a lot. Like there’s this one book store I go to, and literally every time I walk in the same 3 workers ask if I need help with anything. It’s so annoying. Yeah, sure, sometimes I go in there and I read magazines or skim through books, but it’s not like I’m the only one who does that. I know other people who literally just sit on the floor in their own corner and read novels or whatever. And it’s so annoying, because anytime I touch a book, like to see the price, page numbers or summary, 7 workers come out of nowhere and ask if I need help. No, I don’t need help! If I needed help, I’d ask for it. And if you speak in anything above a whisper, they get their aprons* in a bunch. Honestly. And it used to be a Borders express before, but then they got screwed over and had to sell it. But it has the same exact workers! Ugh! That store sucks because they have racial/criminal profiling and bad service. :/

*Yes, they wear aprons in a book store. It’s not even like Barnes & Noble or Borders which have coffee shops or whatever. They don’t even need them!

Stupidity of the Soul Stealers- with Update

Forgive me for the corny title. :P

So, if you’ve read AE’s post, you’ve heard about the new paysite atrocity to hit the Internet. It’s basically a website claiming to be a fair paysite which gives back to the people who make the custom content, not the people who run the website. It sounds okay… if it went well. You know, like Animal Farm pre-Napoleon. AE already said everything there is to say about the website, and to be honest, I’m too tired to fully understand it :X, so I’ll just restate and emphasize some random points.

  • The website is honestly TRASH. Aside from all the lag on that crap, I have to click a page several times for it to load. Like on those tabbed pages, sometimes it just randomly disappears. :/
  • They’re manipulative. Honestly, I’m trying to read some of the BS they posted about how they think paysites are okay, but they talk “like” this! Honestly, they sound like a shoddy lawyer in an alley. Don’t you agree? Besides, sometimes I barely understand what goes on at TMN! :P
  • They lie. I should’ve include this in the bullet before, but they talk about how they’re famous and know big companies. Oh, really? Then why did I need to find out about it from a blog? If they know EA, wouldn’t they end up in the EA store, or even, oh, I don’t know, gainfully and legitimately employed by EA, or any other video game company? Wouldn’t they be featured on Yahoo!, Disney anything, or basically, not for a shoddy reputation?
  • They think that they’re helping people. Okay, Soulless Sims kiddos, have you ever thought that the Sims games are expensive enough? Have you ever thought that buying the game alone can cost 50 dollars? Some people need new computers, which cost a hella lot. So where do you think people are going to find the money to pay for your shitty, shoddy content? And the only people who are going to win are the designers. Do you know that ‘warm, fuzzy feeling’ you get when you buy custom content? It’s not happiness that your helping someone you don’t even know. It’s fear, specifically of how you’ll pay next month’s rent. They talk about how websites like Paysites must be Destroyed suck because ‘You’re helping out people you don’t even know’. AREN’T PAYSITES THE SAME FREAKING THING?!?!!? I mean, I don’t download Custom Content much, but if it’s legal to charge for EA’s crap if you change one little thing even in Create a Style, can’t people charge for things from paysites, after doing the same? I mean, it’s *our* custom content, right?

Blah. My head hurts from all of this, and I still have summer reading to do. :( So, I’ll just link to a bunch of other blogs that posted stuff about Soulless Sims, okay?

(In no specific order)

  2. Zeri's Useless Ponderings.
  3. Chouxie's Chalkboard.

And on a side note, why don’t any of these ‘controversial’ sites have a commenting or chat box section? I mean, I know why(So nobody could complain), but still. And can we just use gripe sites to complain about them again?

UPDATE: He claims to be from Texas, but is really from… Ireland?!? Thank you Sims’ Sanctuary for the information!

Dysfunction Junction

Since my Grandmother’s visiting California for like three months, my brother and I are watching TV in her room now, instead of just playing Sims in the living room with our parents watching TV. We decided to watch Nick@Nite with…. a George Lopez marathon. Aside from everything SS and I have said about how it’s on so much, now, it’s not that bad! As in, I actually like it! Nick @ Nite didn’t show the same 3 episodes with Jason, and I finally watched the episodes with Veronica, and the cliffhanger episode with Max drinking alcohol, Carmen opening college letters, Angie finding out if she’s pregnant, George and Benni dealing with her crime, and Vic proposing. And even if I knew the ending to those episodes, it was refreshing to see them. I disliked the episode where Ernie was obese and needed to lose weight. He was acting like a stubborn jerk the whole time and acted mad when he found out he had to lose weight. Yet when Benni had to stop smoking, they made her look like a villain. But yeah, besides that, I loved those episodes.

My only real problem with the show now is how ABC was stupid enough to cancel the show, replace it with Cavemen, then cancel Cavemen too. Honestly, it’s one of the only shows where I feel like I’m part of the group, not just a viewer. And there’s continuity, and real issues, not just vanilla-style relationships.

And I also started watching Roseanne because I heard it’s like George Lopez in the ‘90’s. And so far, I like it. The theme song is cool.

Summer Reading

This summer, I started summer reading the week after I came back from camp, in the middle of July. I remember it was the day after the World Cup ended. And I’ve been working a lot, even on vacation. And guess what? I still haven’t finished. I only have to read like 3 pages from a history textbook, and read a Civil War book and write an alternate ending on it. The book has 3 copies in my county’s library system, and guess what? 2 of them are checked out. And the website said they were checked out near August 31st. I’m so angry that I have to go across the county to find it, read it, and write an alternate ending, when I could’ve check last week. My Mom’s just going like ‘Well, why did you procrastinate? You never had to work till the last week of summer on this stuff before’ and everything and I’m like ‘UM HELLO? I WAS WORKING SINCE THE MIDDLE OF JULY! That’s before any of your precious nieces even thought about school or anything other than partying and the beach’. It annoys me how adults still would yell at me for being lazy, but I didn’t start last minute, and I’m almost done with this crap. Honestly, it’s only procrastinating if you hold it off until the last minute. I started in the honeymoon stage of summer. :P

This AP stuff is just stressing me out. I’m almost 2/3rds done with the assignment, so I don’t want to leave now, and I’d have to wait until next week to change my schedule, but all the good electives and everything would be full, so I’d get a crappy schedule. But most importantly, I know everyone’s going to BS and suck up to the teacher the whole year, and I’m not ready to deal with that crap yet.

Summer reading in general just pisses me off. They give you such a limited selection of books, and expect you to pull the book out of your @$$ or whatever. Honestly, where the heck do teachers think I could find a book that was most recently printed in the 1990’s? And teachers only say it’s here to help us. Will reading Twilight or the latest Nicholas Sparks book really help me out this year? And I’m in AP and Honors classes. I don’t think a young adult novel will help me this year, especially if I’ll be reading deciphering books from the 1800’s. I believe it only helps people in slower/less advanced classes, because from what I’ve heard at school, they don’t have to read letters and essays from a while back. And in my school, a majority of the slower/less advanced students are in those classes out of laziness, not from learning disabilities, or being weak in the subject. So if those students who are trying to be ‘helped’ are lazy, chances are they’ll just Sparknotes/Wikipedia the book, or just watch the movie, or not do anything at all! So why should people who work hard put up with assignments in our break time because some people are being too lazy to work?
