Oh My Gosh

You know a week is going to be stressful when you barely finished your homework on a Sunday. :/ So yeah, I’m not gonna be on until… Spring Break?

But to make this post less depressing, here’s a funny video about the Sims online. It’s kind of long and I’d give it a PG 13 (The ‘riskiest’ thing they mention is WooHoo).

The Acceptance Playlist

Since tomorrow is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I’m going to make a playlist of Sim Music videos with themes about… accepting others!

Even though I already posted this song last month, I’ll post it again. I really like the video for the song and the Sim Video. It’s about using your inner spark, like a Firework. I like how it’s catchy and it has a message, and it’s not a slow ballad that I’d fall asleep to.

The next song is Underneath it All, by No Doubt. It’s like a decade old, but I still love it. Although this is a slow song, it’s instrumentals keep the song alive. It’s about how Gwen Stefani feels that her boyfriend likes her for who she is, under all that hair and make up and underneath it all. The actual music video portrays that theme better, though. But here’s a nice video about accepting others for who they are, not what they wear.

I know what you’re thinking. Ke$ha, in an acceptance playlist? That’s supposed to be honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? Well, yes. Her song, We R Who We R, is about, well, being who we ‘r’. Ke$ha was inspired by the recent gay suicides that occurred to write this song. Or so I heard. But yeah. This song is fun enough to have all the party animals singing it and it teaches acceptance! Ke$ha, you just earned my respect.

Raise your Glass, by P!nk, is the next song. The song is about just celebrating your flaws and accepting others. P!nk is good at getting her messages across, and Raise your Glass is no exception. So raise your glass, and celebrate your flaws!

Bruno Mars’s song celebrates being just the way you are. Okay, so it’s more for girls, and it’s ‘I like you even if you have love handles!’ more than ‘Your curves are adorable’, but… let’s not look to deep into the lyrics, okay? I like the video for this, and it makes me wish I had The Sims 2 for it. But am I the only one who thinks the ‘nerdy’ girl still looks better than most Sims and people in the real world?

The last song, Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, tells listeners that they are beautiful no matter what they say, and in every single way. I like the message, even though it’s Christina Aguilera telling us that it’s okay to not be beautiful. You know, because it’s not like a gorgeous, stick thin, blue eyed, blond hair girl who can sing and dance has to worry about being beautiful on the inside.

Happy Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Enjoy your day off and remember, accept others!

Hot and Cold About Katy Perry

My thoughts on Katy Perry have been, well, Hot and Cold. When she first came out in 2008, I thought she was annoying for making her main marketing strategy homosexuality and homophobia (Okay, I apologize for the lame and unintentional pun Smile with tongue out). Then I liked her when she made Hot and Cold. Then I kind of forgot about her. When she made Thinking of You, I was happy and I liked it, but it was kind of… delayed. And with BeyoncĂ©'s Single Ladies and Lady Gaga’s Just Dance I thought that she was going to be forgotten about. I was kind of right.

She like, disappeared until Waking Up in Vegas. Then she kind of came back. With a bunch of Betty Boop like stuff. But she was still forgotten about, because, as my friend put it, ‘You can’t dance to Waking Up in Vegas!’. And she had stronger competition.

Katy Perry’s first album was okay, but the songs were way too bland. They sounded like they belonged on a soundtrack for a romantic comedy or something, not the next Britney Spears. And again, with competition from BeyoncĂ© and Lady Gaga, Katy was forgotten about. On Music Choice’s Certified, there was a Lady GaGa vs Katy Perry episode. GaGa won, and Katy didn’t even come close.

Then she disappeared, fell in love with Russell Brand, and came back this summer with California Gurls. I remember thinking ‘Ooh! Katy Perry’s back! With a summer song!’ and all was good in my little music corner. Then, I watched the video and I was disappointed. No, I’m not saying I wanted a full nude scene, and I’m not saying she can’t sell herself out if she wants to, but she got attention for her body more than her singing ‘skills’. So I just ignored her for a while. Besides, Lady GaGa had better singles at the time.

Then, summer ended and Lady GaGa won a lot at the VMAs. And she disappeared for a while. Actually, she’s still working on Born This Way. And she became too political. Now, all of her music is about being creative and unique and she’s trying to find a hidden meaning in everything. I guess I just feel that Lady GaGa lost her fun and why I originally liked her: She was fun but serious. Now it’s just ‘Little Monster’ this, politics that. And it feels like she’s telling her casual listeners that if they don’t think about the hidden meanings in her songs, then they shouldn’t listen to her at all.

Friday night, I watched VH1’s Top 40 Videos of 2010, and I listened Katy Perry’s video, Firework. They said it was a nice motivational video, and the message was good. The clips looked pretty (The scenery, not her cleavage Smile with tongue out ), so I decided to listen to it.

And it’s awesome.

The song is about how everyone has an inner spark to be who they want to be, and they can change things. Or something like that. The message sounded like ‘We’re all normal. Don’t let anyone bring you down.’. If Lady GaGa sang it, however… something tells me it would be ‘You know what? We can be weird together, my Monsters. Don’t forget to buy my album! Oh, and here’s me wearing a float from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.’. Like, Katy Perry says everyone is together, and Lady GaGa says her crowd is weird, but it’s okay because she’s wearing some complex outfit and they’re buying her stuff.

And I’ll end this text parade with some videos. Smile

The Official video. :)
The Venetian Princess parody.
And of course, the Sims 3 version.

I apologize if A) this song gets stuck in your head after, B) your browser crashes/this page loaded slow from the videos. Smile with tongue out

Back to School Playlist

Since school is starting in a while, I’m going to try to make this as positive as it can be, for me, anyway. :P So, here’s a playlist with some school themed videos and lyrics to try to ease us into autumn and the school year.

Let’s start things off with… High School Musical! LOL, just kidding. Paramore, with Misery Business. I’d recommend the official music video for it, for more of the school ‘essence’.

Britney Spears is up next, with Hit me Baby one More Time. The video is school themed. And I’ve seen it used for anything school related, so enjoy.

Here’s All American Rejects, with Dirty Little Secret. I think it’s a great description of high school. Everyone has secrets- that one class they regretted joining, the club they are embarrassed to be in but still go, or going to tutoring, and so on. And then there’s the really scandalous stuff that belong on Jerry Springer and Maury. So, uh…

Here is Fifteen by Taylor Swift. She’s like the Queen of high school related pop music. :P I like the video, specifically, their clothes and the color changes. :P

Here’s another Taylor video, You Belong with Me. Yeah, sure, it’s overplayed on the radio, but I’m pretty sure everyone has experienced this moment in their high school life. And this video tells a story too, and it isn’t just a Sim version of the actual video. And I like their clothes, again. :P

This next song is about school fights. And cheerleaders. And bananas. So, this video is… Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani! I’m just warning you, this video features the s word a lot, so don’t watch if you dislike cursing. And ugh, bad thumbnail. DX

Good luck with school, everyone! :)

Sims Videos: Party Playlist

With MTV’s Jersey Shore Season 2 coming up, and Late Night being announced, I decided to make a party themed Sim music video playlist. Enjoy.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a good video for P!nk’s Get the Party Started, so I’ll start things off with some Ke$ha.

And now, time for some… Lady GaGa!

Just Dance. The mainstream party-goer’s anthem. :P

If the thumbnail is the same for you as it is for me… than sorry if you’re offended by it. :P

And my last Lady GaGa video for this post. Hey, it wouldn’t be summer without this commitment issue anthem, would it? And it took me forever to find a good video.

Shut Up and listen to this song! :o I don’t really have a real reason why I put this song, to be honest, other than I heard it a lot during the summer of 2007.

This song just always makes me smile. :P And I love Gwen Stefani, and the video’s fun. I don’t know what it is that ‘You’ got, considering she’s married… so yeah.

The song has the word Sunshine in the title! What else can you ask for? :P I love Natasha Bedingfield.

And I’ll end this playlist with… some Simlish. :P

I hope the rest of your summer goes great! :)

More Sim Videos

Here are some more Sim music videos that I found online. This time’s theme is… television theme songs and stuff!

The Friends theme song, Sims 2 style. Last night I found a really good one, but I can’t seem to find it anymore, so here’s the next best one. :)

The Nanny theme song.

Thank you for being a friend! Golden Girls theme song here. :P

Family Matters Sims 2 version. I also <3 this show.

The Cosby show. I haven’t seen it in a while, so I’m not sure if it’s accurate or not. D:

The Brady Bunch theme song. It wouldn’t be a sitcom list without it. :P

And I’m probably gonna get these songs stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Have fun. ;)

Awe-Sim Videos

Oh gosh… I’m starting to sound like Hydra or PopTart. D:

Anyway, a few weeks ago I planned on making a playlist with Sims videos… but that didn’t work. So I’m just going to manually post any cool or interesting Sims music videos I see. :P Let’s start out with some Lady GaGa!

Bad Romance by Lady GaGa. I think everyone has seen this one. :P But enjoy!

I like this Sim video for Telephone more than the 9 minute one. I wanna listen to the song, not watch a mini-movie, you know? Oh well. I love both videos but still.

It looks pretty. :P I love this video.

It’s EPIC. But I’m easily amused when it comes to Sim videos. Or should I say Sim-used? :P

Truthfully, all of IITechnomickyII’s videos are great, so don’t feel discouraged to check out their other videos.

And this is another good video. I like how it’s original and not just a copy of the official video.

If you see any good Sim music videos, feel free to leave a link in the comments!
