Ambitions- Coming to a Monitor near you!

So with the release date of Ambitions approaching, as well as those pre orders shipping, more and more people are talking about getting Ambitions.

I will probably get it around July, the earliest. Why? I have school and finals to worry about, then on June 22, my school ends. On the 27th, I go to a week long camp, and come back July 4th. And I have a habit of getting games reeeally late. If my brother and I get good grades( Bs and up in classes and finals), we’ll probably get it quickly, too.

 

So to those getting Ambitions, have fun, post pictures, and test out everything. :P And to those like me, good luck with finals, have fun at camp or vacation, and hopefully you’ll get Ambitions before the next expansion pack comes out.

Disney’s Double Trouble with Double Standards

Remember how when I started this blog, I said it would be less random? Well… I kind of lied. :X

So with me having like no homework on Memorial Day Weekend, I was bored, and decided to go on the Free On Demand section that I get with Verizon. And since I still watch Disney Channel as well as Nickelodeon(To be fair, I started re-watching their shows after reading TVTropes, they provide kind of different and original views on shows), I checked the Disney section out.

I was watching Suite Life On Deck, because I had nothing else to do. And there was that ‘Bermuda triangle alternate reality’ episode, but instead, Zack and Cody just became separated at birth. The twins switched personalities with each other, and normally, everyone on the show hates Cody for being sensitive, disliking sports, applying himself in school, and so on. But in this episode, they hated Alternate-Reality Cody because HE was a womanizer, could care less about school, lazy and so on. Okay Disney, let me get this straight, so it’s okay to hate friendly people in one world, and then the exact opposite in the other? In the AR world, everyone was all ‘shame on you Cody DX’ to Cody, but in their ‘real’ world, everyone hates Cody for being friendly and sensitive. Seriously, that whole episode was just Cody abuse. They didn’t even have a moral of ‘Extremes are bad, moderations are good’ or anything, just ‘Be careful what you wish for’.

And then, I heard that JONAS is getting a second season, but the whole show is being remodeled, revamped, and rewritten, because the Jonases are ‘moving’(Truth: JONAS failed to attract viewers, merchandise, or anything, so they’re doing everything they can to save it.). Oh, so when a show that doesn't have eye candy as it's main stars doesn’t do that good, you have to kill it immediately, but when it’s a cash cow like JONAS(Who already have Camp Rock,  Living the Dream, their own music ‘career’, and other junk),  you have to try EVERYTHING to save it? Good gosh. With Hannah Montana ending(They have another special episode coming, this time on Military families), Suite Life having no end in site, Wizards wrapping up on it’s third season, and Sonny with a Chance having no chance, Disney needs to learn what to do with their shows. Oh, and Good Luck Charlie seems nice for now, but I wonder how the Jason Dolley curse will affect it.

EA’s registration reward thing for Ambitions seems nice. Are those curly hairs I see? Anyway, I’m impressed by EA. Don’t get me wrong, it’s ridiculous that it took them a year for curly hair to be made, but seeing that they could’ve add some really stupid twist to get these items instead of just giving them for free after registration, EA just got .0000001% better in my book.

Let’s hope they keep this up!

FarmVille- New Chickens

FarmVille has new chickens available. I’m happy, kind of, because I ran out of decorating space around March, and frankly, I need something new and not FarmCash related to keep me interested in playing. I already cut CafeWorld and Mafia Wars out of my schedule earlier this year, because the lag was too much and it wasn’t fun anymore. Besides, who has time for Facebook video games when you have Sims? :P

In other news, FarmVille went guido around last week.  Thoughts?

So today, I decided to visit Jarsie9’s page on the Sims 3 forum. And, if you noticed the circled, she has bought and registered all Sims 3 games so far. Maybe that’s why EA hasn’t banned her yet- she’s profitable; in hits and in dollars. Face it, whether you like her or not, you have to admit, her chronicles are entertaining. Well, at least with The Mare’s Nest commentary. But yeah, my point is, EA is keeping her because they need her money, and other loud-mouthed members who should be banned. So it looks like if we want a free pass to post anything, we need to buy all of their products.

Oh, and look at when she uploaded her avatar onto the exchange. Was she trying to get into the spirit of Halloween by haunting the exchange? Alright, I’ll stop. :P

Awe-Sim Videos

Oh gosh… I’m starting to sound like Hydra or PopTart. D:

Anyway, a few weeks ago I planned on making a playlist with Sims videos… but that didn’t work. So I’m just going to manually post any cool or interesting Sims music videos I see. :P Let’s start out with some Lady GaGa!

Bad Romance by Lady GaGa. I think everyone has seen this one. :P But enjoy!

I like this Sim video for Telephone more than the 9 minute one. I wanna listen to the song, not watch a mini-movie, you know? Oh well. I love both videos but still.

It’s EPIC. But I’m easily amused when it comes to Sim videos. Or should I say Sim-used? :P

Truthfully, all of IITechnomickyII’s videos are great, so don’t feel discouraged to check out their other videos.

Evitable Atrocities, or Should I say EA?

So apparently, EA took my last post as a challenge to out-stupid Zynga. And guess what? They ‘beat’ Zynga in the game of stupid company moves. Although this doesn’t effect us Simmers directly, I have a feeling something is headed in our direction…

Point is, what if the already crap Sims 3 website becomes a premium feature? Seriously, what would EA be on? As if anyone wants to spend money on virtual furniture, now w'e’d have to actually pay to talk/argue with Jarsie9, getting threads locked or banned for posting thank you’s and LOLcats. So, is EA one step closer to epic fail? Or is it already in it?

Basically, start petitioning against EA- to other people. VidKid20 already has some links up; and I already emailed all three of them. But this can’t be a one or two person movement- you should do something too! Email video games news websites, companies, or even just alert other forums, if you can! Stop complaining on the EA forum, and start alerting others about the electronic dictators known as EA.
…Okay, so that was a little too motivational-speech-ish, but the point is EA has had one too many slip ups and second chances, and by now, they should realize their customers have brains, feelings, and most importantly, POWER IN NUMBERS. I remember someone on the Sims 3 Forum once said ‘If nobody buys or even touches Ambitions for the first week it’s out, EA will be trying everything to get their fans back’. Well, let’s see if EA can take a hint!

Oh, and the title refers to how EA could’ve solve this entire mess by appreciating their fans. Hey, EA, better late than never!

EA, You Might Want to Watch Out

We all have heard of the horror that is known as EA; charging loyal customers for pixels, glitches, and then banning them later, after they’re done using a user long enough. But another company might start replacing EA in Internet frugality- Zynga.

Yes, Zynga. The company that makes highly addictive games for Facebook and other social networking websites. There games require patience for loading, friends for gifting, and a huuuge wallet.

Today, in YoVille, the Sims-esque Zynga Game, was the game’s anniversary. To ‘celebrate’ it, they had a bunch of special items on ‘sale’.

Yeah, on sale for who? If you could see the pictures clearly, you could see bathtubs for 8 and 9 YoCash, the YoVille currency. Chairs are also 7 and 8 YoCash. And the price changes on COLOR. So they purposely put somewhat crappy shades of everything for cheaper prices, than bright, better looking colors cost more. :/ Sure, 25 coins doesn’t seem like a lot, but if you’re designing an entire room, you have to wait like a month to save up.

And here’s what I mean for the whole ‘25 extra coins per item in a set is really inconvenient’. I had a choice of making my diner red, blue, pink or purple. I was initially going to do it blue, but seeing as it was a really boring shade to me, I had to wait longer(This set was available in November ‘09) to make my diner.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an alright game. Sure, the last two months of themes really sucked, with Whimsical and Enchanted Land, which ended in identical items, but I’ve managed to save a lot of coins by not buying anything at all, but really Zynga. This is a FREE game. You shouldn’t have to go so low to steal money from people who care about your game so much.

Sleeping, Sunflower seeds, and Sneezes.

Hi guys. Sorry for not posting for a while. School got busy and today I wasn't home for long. And when I came home, I was tired. No, not from sleep-deprivation or anything. But I have allergies, which make spring a disaster, so my mom decided to get me some allergy medication. It worked! But I fell asleep on the couch. If you know me(Shiny Shinx), you'd know I always sleep on the couch. But this time, I was eating sunflower seeds, and I fell asleep. And again, if you know me, you'd know I love sunflower seeds and it's like the one thing that makes me awake and happy, no matter what. So yeah, I basically slept on my couch because allergy medication made me tired. And I know it's the pills because when my cousins get the pills, they say they become really tired, too. I really should stop lying down when I’m tired, especially if I want to watch Nick @ Nite(Though to be fair, it was Malcolm in the Middle, and I never really liked it). So now; I have to decide: Allergies or being sleepy? And it’s not so smart for me to be up so late if… a) I have Sunday School/Church tomorrow; b)I have to do my homework(Well, it’s studying for a quiz, and then everything else is optional, and it’s due Tuesday, c) My parents sleep earlier then my brother and I do on the weekends and apparently, they’re light sleepers, so I have to be really quiet and quick to go to my room. Not to mention, they’ll know I slept late if I wake up around 10 AM. Oh well.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention: The playlist isn’t working. D: So I’ll fix/remove it tomorrow.
