If you haven’t heard the news yet, Demi Lovato is getting treatment for ‘emotional and personal issues’. I heard that she use to cut herself in 2008. And although her show got picked up for a third season, it’s apparently going to just be like All That, or Saturday Night Live for preteens. And without Demi. You know, so Demi can focus on her personal issues.
I, personally, feel appalled by Disney’s decision. No, I’m not saying they shouldn’t give poor Demi a break, but really? The show is called Sonny with a Chance. Not So Random! or anything. And only So Random skits means no Chad Dylan Cooper and I’ve read a lot of comments filled with people going like ‘Oh, I only watch the show for CDC’ and everything, so the show will probably lose viewers, and get cancelled, once Demi feels better. And how will that make her feel, Disney? Besides, they’re just being insensitive to her. Instead of just having a hiatus, or some kind of plot within the show for her absence, they decide to show her that she’s essentially worthless to the show and they could replace her like that.
This is all Disney’s fault, anyway. If the Mouse House never made her become famous so fast, she’d have a transition to fame, and not breakdown and everything. From the first Camp Rock promotion I saw in April 2008 until a few weeks ago, Disney included Demi everywhere, and on everything. They didn’t let her ‘grow on’ to us, or anything, but instead, they handed her to us, and said ‘Here’s our new product. Like it or leave it.’ At least the HSM kids and Miley were unexpected successes, but now, everything on Disney is being marketed as the next big thing. I mean, Selena and the Twins also had transitions, but things aren’t looking too good for Bridgette Mendler or the Shake it Up! girls’ futures if Disney keeps this up. Besides, even if people do buy their products, once they leave Disney, nobody will take them seriously. At least Zac Efron is kind of a serious actor… or something like that. And Ashley Tisdale has a show on CW, as well as another HSM coming out next year. Oh, and Monique Coleman turned…. 30 today! That’s older than… Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Cory Monteith, and Cobie Smudlers?!!?! I’m not calling Monique old, I’m just criticizing Disney for not picking someone who, you know, isn’t 30. Then again, Jason Earles is like 33….
Get well soon, Demi!
Yeah, seeing as the non-tween fans watch for Sterling Knight, this isn't going to be good. And this is going to stunt lots of character development, especially for Zora, who barely has a personality. And we could've seen CDC without Sonny. That would be interesting.
ReplyDeleteAnd why do I have a feeling this will make Nico and Grady the stars of SWAC?
They're probably going to hand all the behind-the-scenes plots to the Shake it Up! girls now
Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if SwaC gets axed with WoWP, Hannah Montana, and possible SLoD. Disney's getting wiped out now.
