I grew to tolerate and –gasp– like Shake it Up! ! And both plots! With an annoying guest star! :O
First, on Good Luck Charlie, Gabe tries to befriend the new neighbor who has a crush on Teddy. Teddy still isn’t over Spencer, to the point of cyber stalking. And the new neighbor forces Teddy to date him. New neighbor is 11 years old, and after they ‘go out’ she realizes she needs someone who’s good to her, not just attractive. Or something like that. I was playing The Sims 3, lol. So NN annoyed me, and I was annoyed that he was on Shake it Up! next. But then…
Then, CC, aka Bella Thorne, needs tutoring to stay on the show. She gets tutored by NN from Good Luck Charlie. He’s more or less playing the same character, because they’re both portrayed as upper class brats who speak with proper grammar. Anyway, it’s not working and then he explains it to her with dancing terms. And she learns! But then Annoying Little Brother ruins things by making NN ‘boyish’. But have no fear, because Rocky offers to tutor! NN says she can’t because… CC has dyslexia! And it was followed by a real, heartwarming/tearjerker conversation between CC and Rocky. Without Disney hamming it up, or spoiling it in commercials. I was impressed. And the B plot was also good. Foreign Twin Girl wants to go on a date, and Guy from Camp Rock takes her out. Okay, so Foreign Twin Boy had to pay GfCR to take FTG out, but still. And eventually, the couple grew to like each other. And they had a nice time. I’m still confused on why she isn’t a part of the main cast.
The Sonny with a Chance episode was alright. It had Joe Jonas (Ouch!) and Sterling Knight on, too, which was odd, because it was a So Random! Holiday Special.
I heard that Disney isn’t going to have as much princess movies after Tangled. I read that they have a bunch of ‘boy movies’ planned out for the next few years, and because The Princess and the Frog screwed up at the box office, they feel that nobody wants to see princesses anymore. I think it’s weird, because there’s no way Cinderella and friends didn’t help the Mouse House, so it’s odd to see them shoo away a perfectly good franchise, especially with Miley Cyrus leaving. I’m not saying Disney shouldn’t explore with different movies, but if their females are going to start looking like Bratz dolls than Barbies… yikes. Then again, I’m a male teen, so… yeah.
And ugh, school tomorrow. :(
