:(

So, today during dinner, I found out my Granduncle passed away. :’( Rest in peace. I feel horrible for my Grandmother. She’s in California now, and she never had a chance to say goodbye(He lives in Syria, along with most of my distant relatives) to her brother. :(

And I’m starting school again. I can’t go on as much, because whenever school starts or reopens(Like after breaks and stuff), my parents always try making us only allowed to go online on weekends. We eventually always get to go back online during the week, but it might take a while. I have school off Thursday and Friday, and since this is just the first week, my parents might be generous and let me go online(Or at least forget :P). I won’t be online as much. I know this sounds old by now, but I have 1 AP class, 3 honors classes, and my own life outside of the blogosphere. :P I’ll try to do some posts now and then, but don’t expect novel length rants anymore. Maybe this is a good thing? :P

So… um, bye?

Layout Update Makeover Thing

Happy Labor Day, everyone! I updated the blog's layout. And I'm almost done with my summer reading. :) Enjoy the remainder of your long weekend. Oh, and good luck to all my fellow students. :P

*And this is the first time I've posted using the Blogger website. It feels... odd. *

Of Course It Is

Apparently, Zynga believe September is when all of us hardworking YoVille-ers should be appreciated. Somebody clearly went a little loony with power over there, seeing as they admitted that us players deserve credit for putting up with their crap. It’s not as bad as EA, but still. Zynga should be rich enough from FarmVille, so they should leave YoVille alone. Or at least clean it up.

YoVille is honestly… messed up now. Small crud like stuffed animals(Which don’t even go with the art style of the rest of the items, by the way) cost YoCash, AKA real world money. And it used to be fun to talk with others, or play tic-tac-toe. Now, it’s turning into a hook up game. And a lot of the YoVille clothes and hairstyles, not to mention, players, resemble guidos and guidettes from the Jersey Shore. There was a time when the clothes and furniture was realistic. Now it’s just one cheap gimmick after another.

I’ll post updates if anything interesting pops up on YoVille.

Soulful Sim Irony

On a quick Google search of Soulful Sims, guess what comes up?

Yeah, AE’s warning against them. :P

And remember how earlier this week I said I read about a Cory in the House season 3? Wiki lied. :(

And I hate it when workers in stores follow potential customers around a lot. Like there’s this one book store I go to, and literally every time I walk in the same 3 workers ask if I need help with anything. It’s so annoying. Yeah, sure, sometimes I go in there and I read magazines or skim through books, but it’s not like I’m the only one who does that. I know other people who literally just sit on the floor in their own corner and read novels or whatever. And it’s so annoying, because anytime I touch a book, like to see the price, page numbers or summary, 7 workers come out of nowhere and ask if I need help. No, I don’t need help! If I needed help, I’d ask for it. And if you speak in anything above a whisper, they get their aprons* in a bunch. Honestly. And it used to be a Borders express before, but then they got screwed over and had to sell it. But it has the same exact workers! Ugh! That store sucks because they have racial/criminal profiling and bad service. :/

*Yes, they wear aprons in a book store. It’s not even like Barnes & Noble or Borders which have coffee shops or whatever. They don’t even need them!

Stupidity of the Soul Stealers- with Update

Forgive me for the corny title. :P

So, if you’ve read AE’s post, you’ve heard about the new paysite atrocity to hit the Internet. It’s basically a website claiming to be a fair paysite which gives back to the people who make the custom content, not the people who run the website. It sounds okay… if it went well. You know, like Animal Farm pre-Napoleon. AE already said everything there is to say about the website, and to be honest, I’m too tired to fully understand it :X, so I’ll just restate and emphasize some random points.

  • The website is honestly TRASH. Aside from all the lag on that crap, I have to click a page several times for it to load. Like on those tabbed pages, sometimes it just randomly disappears. :/
  • They’re manipulative. Honestly, I’m trying to read some of the BS they posted about how they think paysites are okay, but they talk “like” this! Honestly, they sound like a shoddy lawyer in an alley. Don’t you agree? Besides, sometimes I barely understand what goes on at TMN! :P
  • They lie. I should’ve include this in the bullet before, but they talk about how they’re famous and know big companies. Oh, really? Then why did I need to find out about it from a blog? If they know EA, wouldn’t they end up in the EA store, or even, oh, I don’t know, gainfully and legitimately employed by EA, or any other video game company? Wouldn’t they be featured on Yahoo!, Disney anything, or basically, not for a shoddy reputation?
  • They think that they’re helping people. Okay, Soulless Sims kiddos, have you ever thought that the Sims games are expensive enough? Have you ever thought that buying the game alone can cost 50 dollars? Some people need new computers, which cost a hella lot. So where do you think people are going to find the money to pay for your shitty, shoddy content? And the only people who are going to win are the designers. Do you know that ‘warm, fuzzy feeling’ you get when you buy custom content? It’s not happiness that your helping someone you don’t even know. It’s fear, specifically of how you’ll pay next month’s rent. They talk about how websites like Paysites must be Destroyed suck because ‘You’re helping out people you don’t even know’. AREN’T PAYSITES THE SAME FREAKING THING?!?!!? I mean, I don’t download Custom Content much, but if it’s legal to charge for EA’s crap if you change one little thing even in Create a Style, can’t people charge for things from paysites, after doing the same? I mean, it’s *our* custom content, right?

Blah. My head hurts from all of this, and I still have summer reading to do. :( So, I’ll just link to a bunch of other blogs that posted stuff about Soulless Sims, okay?

(In no specific order)

  1. Grumpy Toast.
  2. Zeri's Useless Ponderings.
  3. Chouxie's Chalkboard.
  4. Thunder and Lightning.
  5. And Grumpy Toast again.
  6. Sims’ Sanctuary
  7. Sims' Sanctuary Again

If I missed any other blogs covering these con artists, just post it in the comments section.

And on a side note, why don’t any of these ‘controversial’ sites have a commenting or chat box section? I mean, I know why(So nobody could complain), but still. And can we just use gripe sites to complain about them again?

UPDATE: He claims to be from Texas, but is really from… Ireland?!? Thank you Sims’ Sanctuary for the information!

Dysfunction Junction

Since my Grandmother’s visiting California for like three months, my brother and I are watching TV in her room now, instead of just playing Sims in the living room with our parents watching TV. We decided to watch Nick@Nite with…. a George Lopez marathon. Aside from everything SS and I have said about how it’s on so much, now, it’s not that bad! As in, I actually like it! Nick @ Nite didn’t show the same 3 episodes with Jason, and I finally watched the episodes with Veronica, and the cliffhanger episode with Max drinking alcohol, Carmen opening college letters, Angie finding out if she’s pregnant, George and Benni dealing with her crime, and Vic proposing. And even if I knew the ending to those episodes, it was refreshing to see them. I disliked the episode where Ernie was obese and needed to lose weight. He was acting like a stubborn jerk the whole time and acted mad when he found out he had to lose weight. Yet when Benni had to stop smoking, they made her look like a villain. But yeah, besides that, I loved those episodes.

My only real problem with the show now is how ABC was stupid enough to cancel the show, replace it with Cavemen, then cancel Cavemen too. Honestly, it’s one of the only shows where I feel like I’m part of the group, not just a viewer. And there’s continuity, and real issues, not just vanilla-style relationships.

And I also started watching Roseanne because I heard it’s like George Lopez in the ‘90’s. And so far, I like it. The theme song is cool.

Summer Reading

This summer, I started summer reading the week after I came back from camp, in the middle of July. I remember it was the day after the World Cup ended. And I’ve been working a lot, even on vacation. And guess what? I still haven’t finished. I only have to read like 3 pages from a history textbook, and read a Civil War book and write an alternate ending on it. The book has 3 copies in my county’s library system, and guess what? 2 of them are checked out. And the website said they were checked out near August 31st. I’m so angry that I have to go across the county to find it, read it, and write an alternate ending, when I could’ve check last week. My Mom’s just going like ‘Well, why did you procrastinate? You never had to work till the last week of summer on this stuff before’ and everything and I’m like ‘UM HELLO? I WAS WORKING SINCE THE MIDDLE OF JULY! That’s before any of your precious nieces even thought about school or anything other than partying and the beach’. It annoys me how adults still would yell at me for being lazy, but I didn’t start last minute, and I’m almost done with this crap. Honestly, it’s only procrastinating if you hold it off until the last minute. I started in the honeymoon stage of summer. :P

This AP stuff is just stressing me out. I’m almost 2/3rds done with the assignment, so I don’t want to leave now, and I’d have to wait until next week to change my schedule, but all the good electives and everything would be full, so I’d get a crappy schedule. But most importantly, I know everyone’s going to BS and suck up to the teacher the whole year, and I’m not ready to deal with that crap yet.

Summer reading in general just pisses me off. They give you such a limited selection of books, and expect you to pull the book out of your @$$ or whatever. Honestly, where the heck do teachers think I could find a book that was most recently printed in the 1990’s? And teachers only say it’s here to help us. Will reading Twilight or the latest Nicholas Sparks book really help me out this year? And I’m in AP and Honors classes. I don’t think a young adult novel will help me this year, especially if I’ll be reading deciphering books from the 1800’s. I believe it only helps people in slower/less advanced classes, because from what I’ve heard at school, they don’t have to read letters and essays from a while back. And in my school, a majority of the slower/less advanced students are in those classes out of laziness, not from learning disabilities, or being weak in the subject. So if those students who are trying to be ‘helped’ are lazy, chances are they’ll just Sparknotes/Wikipedia the book, or just watch the movie, or not do anything at all! So why should people who work hard put up with assignments in our break time because some people are being too lazy to work?
