New Timberson Chapter

Quick update!

Hi everyone. I found an awesome legacy; the Kanes, made by Viva La Simming. The writing is humorous(To me, anyway :P), and it’s a part of Nova’s Legacy Challenge. So have fun reading it.

And I got the mini-update thing EA was offering… and the game is working better! The Sims can bathe again and change their clothes on their home lot. So that’s a start, I guess. :]

Why I still feel bad for Lindsay Lohan

“The 1998 remake of The Parent Trap is kind of depressing to watch now since it's a family movie starring the now late Natasha Richardson (who of course, recently died in a skiing accident). It also of course, stars a young Lindsay Lohan in more innocent, precocious times. Also, the whole plot centers on Dennis Quaid's twins (both played by Lindsay Lohan). In real life, Dennis Quaid's own newborn twins almost died due to an accidental overdose.” Taken from TV Tropes.

If you haven’t heard already, Lindsay Lohan is going to jail for breaking some DUI stuff. I think it’s really out of hand that she’s going to jail as a result of partying for several reasons.

1. Her parents. The only people who will benefit from her experience immediately are her parents. They rank with the Gosselins and Joe Jackson, in terms of parents that just mooching off their children’s fame. They’re going to be horrible to her and just try soaking up every second of ‘fame’ she has.
2. It’s not benefitting her. She’s going to be sharing a prison with rapists, murderers, and other people, not to mention, wasting people’s tax dollars, just because she got caught driving a car under the influence. I understand she broke the law, but can’t she just go to rehab instead, which is made to help people like her? I understand jail isn’t supposed to be helping people, but still, journalists are having a field day telling their viewers how it’s gonna help her.
3. This will delay her comeback, if she will have one. People won’t want to hire ‘the girl from jail’ for her movies, especially with new competition that the media drools over(Megan Fox, Kristen Stewart, etc.). And if people didn’t hire her when she was ‘the eating disorder girl’ or ‘the party girl’ and so on, nobody will even think about hiring her now.
4. A while back, I was reading a ‘celebrity 2010 death prediction list’, as morbid as it sounds, and Lindsay Lohan was on it. I tried finding it to have as a link, but I couldn’t find it… and instead, Google gave me many more lists with her on it. I was repulsed by it, and especially how most of them agreed she’d die in a downward spiral from drugs, drinking, and so on. What if prison pushes her over the edge? I understand she broke a law, and if it was some random 23 year old from New York City or something I’d be all ‘They broke the law. No ifs ands or buts.’ but seriously. They should’ve just make the trial as quick and painless for her as possible.

But yeah, I wish the best for her, and I respect the court’s decision. So remember kids, designated drivers really are your friends!

I’m baaaack

My brother and I came back from camp… Sunday afternoon. But being the Internet addicts we are, we had like a million stuff to check online (Okay, so I had to catch up on the Sims-blogosphere, watch Friends, visit some websites, and Facebook, but still, that takes up a lot, for me.), and in real life, such as reading newspapers (Okay, so just the advice columns, comics, and whatever else I find interesting), and such.

And Ambitions came in the mail last week (While I was at camp… how convenient. >.<’’) and we decided to test it out and stuff. But we played with our legacy family, the Timbersons, so… hilarity ensued. Beds and showers became unusable, guests who just walk by stay in the house forever, ages got MESSED UP big time, and basically, it made me want to scream. In the Northeast, there’s already a heat wave, and I didn’t really need Ambitions not working so well to make me even more infuriated. But hey, it’s EA, what else should I expect?

And ughhhhh. I feel weird. Like one less week of summer already. And I have a junkload of summer reading to do (I’m not sure if I mentioned this already…but 1 chapter outline for 2 textbooks and reading a book of our choice [from a list'] and being tested on it for the first day of school, reading two short stories and doing another assignment based off that, and reading two books of my choice and being prepared to discuss them.) So I’m planning on starting next week, and I’m scared because last summer it took me 6 weeks to read Great Expectations(Yes, the Great Expectations) and stuff so basically, it’s like school’s starting all over again. Eh.

And I hate how the World Cup is basically almost over already. It started like on the exact weekend of pre-final assignments and stuff, so I couldn't really watch the first few games, up till June 22 or 23 (Yeah, I’m bad at keeping dates D:). Then I had like 4 or 5 days to watch games, and then… I went to camp for a week and apparently all the interesting games happened then. And now it’s almost over. :(

So this is my last post for a while, because I have camp. Don’t miss me too much. :P

 

And I’m on generation 6 of the Timbersons so far(Almost 4, posting wise :P), and I haven’t wanted to try another challenge yet… until I saw the Rainbow Legacy Challenge thing. I don’t know. Themes just sound fun. And redoing the house every generation, and having themed clothes and hair and stuff for each generation. I’d only change the colors involved, so it’s not Yellow/Orange/Red/Violet-Purple/Blue/Turquoise/Green/Lime/Black/White.

But I shouldn’t even considering starting another Sims project yet, because of camp, then a few more Timberson generations, and knowing my luck, school will come around by then. :( And 1 AP level class(Which is ~college level) and 3 Honors classes sounds fuuuun. And plenty of time for Simming. Right?

And in other news…

I’ve seriously met people who want their own home country to lose just because their background/ethnic homeland lost in the World Cup. It’s like, chill. Just because you lost your hopes doesn’t mean you could kill everyone else’s. And throwing the F-bomb around just because your team lost is not cool. At all.

So the end.

Should I be excited?

The following was supposed to be posted Wednesday, but due to posting troubles, it’s getting posted today.

So today, I went to Best Buy, and I bought an MP3 charger and Ambitions. The Charger was supposed to cost around 30 dollars, but was 40 and Ambitions costed 40, but thanks to a Gift Card, I saved like 10 dollars. :D But you know those annoying reward program stuff? They didn’t work. >:| Best Buy Customer Service will definitely be hearing from me.

So when I came home, I told my Mom, and she told me to just return Ambitions and buy it online from Barnes and Noble, using Gift Cards. So I did, and it said I should be getting it in 3 to 5 business days… but it’s coming tomorrow(The 24th)! :o Is it good? Did EA rip us off? Should I have wait longer?

And I’m not sure if I said this already, but my camp-anxiety-thing isn’t going away. Or getting better. :( Tips?

Mixed Emotions

So, I tried uploading a post last night, but it didn’t work. :( It’s all ‘Bleh it’s not working try again’ to me and stuff, so I’m just trying every few minutes to see if it’ll ever work. :/

 

Buut, I found a new place to read my legacies. :) It’s the LiveJournal Sims 3 Legacy Community-ish thing. And ugh, I wish I could make those fancy picture stuff. I don’t want to download GIMP, a free Photoshop-esque program, on this laptop, because I know with all the brushes and everything I’d be making, I’d waste the space and memory and junk on this. So, there’s Picnik? I don’t wanna become one of those ‘Oh look at me I’m so deep I filtered this picture 200 times and added a caption and a border’ people, but seeing as I (kind of) have experience with graphic arts(banner making, anyway), I might know when to stop with the effects. But to me, Picnik scream ‘unprofessional preteen mallrat emo-wannabe who shops at Hot Topic and  thinks using ‘;)’ is the equivalent of being in a relationship’. If you are not from the United States, or a high schooler, then you probably won’t know what I’m talking about, but to translate: Annoying, whiny, attention seeking brats. That’s a good majority of high schoolers with Picnik accounts, anyway.

And camp is getting closer. :o I’m still nervous.
